What is Amino Acids?

Amino Acids are dietary supplements designed to enhance your recovery before, during, and after the workout. There are MANY different kinds, but I strongly recommend the Optimum Nutrition brand. One bottle has 320 tablets and can last you for a good while.

What is in Amino Acids?

They are derived from whey protein concentrate, soy protein isolate, hydrolyzed whey peptides, L-Carnitine, and L-Ornithine HCL. Take two pills (it can be at the same time or different times) before, during, or after the workout (I take mine after) to enhance your recovery and help rebuild your muscles.

What are BCAA’s?

BCAA’s (Branch Chain Amino Acids) are amino acids that your body does not produce, and you have to get them from other sources. They come in either a pill or powder form. You take 2 of these pills as well, and one scoop of the powder. However, do not take a pill and the powder together, choose one.


What is in BCAA’s?

Your body needs them to help rebuild your muscle faster. They come in pill or powder form. They have the amino acids L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine. These are not in the amino acid above, so they essentially there are different amino’s in them that help do the same things.

They help reduce muscle soreness, support cardiovascular health, support healthy immune function, support joint and tendon health, and support cellular health. Take them before, during, or after the workout.

Amino Energy

Amino Energy is a powder you can use before, during, or after the workout. There are only 10 calories per serving, it helps build muscles with bcaa’s amino acids, and it improves your energy and focus.

This supplement has a blend of almost every kind of amino acid there is, including BCAA’s. If you are looking for a complete amino supplement, this is the one for you.

It also has caffeine for green tea and green tea extract, which has been proven to have a very positive affect on your health.

  1. This is a great review. There are so many supplements on the market and it can be pretty overwhelming trying to find the right one. I have been a little wary of pre workout supplements but the recovery and energy boost of strengthstack looks enticing. It can be tough to find a good recovery and pre workout supplement all in one so maybe this is the product I need. Have you seen good results with this product?

    1. Yes! I am lifting heavier so I feel stronger, and I am recovering faster. I am not as sore and I feel a lot better after my workout. :

    Actually I have a lot of friends that have been using and continue to take amino acids on a regular basis.
    But I have heard that the ingredients on some of them might be dubious so I have not used the amino acids yet.
    I just train regularly like 5 times a week and sometimes my muscles are really sore. So I might start using some amino acids.
    What form of amino acids do you recommend powder or pills?

    This is a great review on Amino acids and BCAAs.
    since I train I really find these supplements useful because they give me the extra boost to train harder.

    I like to take my amino acids or BCAAs after I workout because I see the most benefits at those times.

      Amino acids are the best thing to use to enhance your workout. However, I have also had experience with Arginine, which comes in a pill and it enhances your blood flow. This helps improve energy as well.
